Meet Jungto Society
Virtually and In Person
After the COVID-19 pandemic began, Jungto Society transitioned into a virtual organization. All of the programs of the Jungto Dharma Centers are now offered virtually, and people can learn, practice and share online in the comfort of their personal spaces. However, there are still Jungto Society centers and temples you can visit for retreat programs, cultural activities, and volunteer work including farming and recycling.

Jungto Centers in Seoul
In March 1999, Seocho Jungto Center was built in a three-story building in Seocho-dong, Seoul with the beginning of the 100-Day Dharma Talk by Ven. Pomnyun Sunim. As the organization grew, the center began to play a central role in the administration of Jungto Society. In March 2021, Seoul Jungto Center was newly constructed. It will serve as a center for social and cultural exchanges to realize the dream of spreading the Buddha’s teachings all over the world.

Retreat Centers
Jungto Retreat Centers offer education and retreat programs including Awakening Retreat, Sharing Retreat, Meditation Retreat, and the 100-Day Chulga (Pabbajja) Program. Currently they are closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jungto Education and Training Center
Located in Seonyu-dong, Mungyeong, the Center is an education and training facility for members of Jungo Society.
Jungto Centers Outside Korea
Until May 2018, Jungto Society operated 65 overseas chapters including 24 in the United States. They provided weekly dharma meetings where the members of Jungto Society watched Ven. Pomnyun Sunim’s Dharma talk videos and participated in other programs. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, Jungto Society transitioned into a virtual organization, and most of the overseas centers have been closed. Most of the programs are now offered virtually. In April 2021, Jungto Society started Weekly English Dharma Meeting online.
